A Challenge and a "Thank You"

Uhm. So today was one of the most amazing days ever. Mondays in general are usually guaranteed to be inspiring, fun, crazy, random, deep, confusing, motivating, and like a million other things. But today was all that and more. Someone in my program, who wishes to remain anonymous, completely made my day-no, my life. She gave me a kitty along with all the things needed to get her adjusted to her new home and all her vet stuff taken care of.

Now this, aside from being incredibly generous, was so inspiring to me and served as a reminder that we all have the ability to make someone's day a little brighter, to make them feel like to somebody, they mean something. It's incredible. And it doesn't have to be something as amazing and slightly unorthodox as a kitten, but this is the kind of situation where "it's the thought that counts" rings so true. Just letting someone know you're on their mind, that they have somehow made you smile, that something they said really touched you, anything at all really can do so much to change someone's day. It's incredible. It's inspiring.

So, thank you to the person/people involved in this wonderful act of kindness and I hope you know that your kind act is more than appreciated and will be "paid forward" in every way that I can. It's people like you who remind me why I have so much faith in people even when reality tells me that I shouldn't. It's people like you who will change the world-one random act of kindness at a time. This certainly wasn't the only inspiring, life-changing, thing that happened today-no, today was one of those days that will surely continue to inspire me through everything I do, but it was one that I just really needed to show my gratitude for.

Here's the challenge I issue to you: Perform one random act of kindness a day.
It's easy and it doesn't require anything elaborate or even planned out.
Sometimes something as simple and asking someone how their day was and actually caring about their response can turn someone's day around. Think about it. Give it a try. I dare you.

Until Next Time,
Get Inspired.
Emily
